Getting to Greyfriars
Greyfriars is situated at the Guildford end of the A31. It is on the westbound (Farnham bound) carriageway of the A31 Hogs Back dual carriageway, so is best approached from the M25/A3/Guildford.

From the M25, A3, and Guildford
Having passed through Guildford on the A3 dual carriageway passing the Cathedral on the hill on your left, you will climb a hill and see a railway arch over the A3. Leave the A3 at this point and join the A31 signposted Farnham. The two lane slip road will reduce to a single lane, and will then be joined by a 2 nd lane on the right. Remain in the left hand lane.

After a few hundred metres, you will pass the 1st turning signposted Monkshatch close to the first bus-stop. A few hundred metres further Greyfriars is the 2 nd turning off the dual carriageway, next to the second bus-stop and small post-box . Pass through the archway (Greyfriars Lodge) and along the drive to the house.

(Note : If you pass a roadsign for Greyfriars Veterinary Surgery and Vineyard you have gone too far and will need to leave the A31 at the next exit signposted Puttenham, and rejoin the eastbound carriageway of the A31 towards Guildford and follow the directions “From Farnham on the A31” below.)

From Farnham on the A31
At the Guildford end of the A31, the dual carriageway splits into three lanes, the left lane signposted A3, and the centre lane signposted to Guildford Station. Take the right hand lane signposted A31 Farnham. There is a give way and you will need to carefully rejoin the northbound side and follow the second paragraph of the directions “From the M25 and Guildford ” above.

Greyfriars House is just 2 miles from Guildford mainline railway station which has regular connections to central London (35 minutes).

By Air
